Day After Christmas

Wow! Christmas flew by. How'd that happen?

We had a leisurely Christmas day....got up late, Jen made her famous Monkey Bread and we had Emeril's Chocolate-y Christmas Cafe au Lait before we opened our gifts. First time we've ever done that. Usually everyone wants to rip right into the presents and then go back to bed for a while!

John gave me a diamond "Journey" neckace....I LOVE it! He did good! I bought him a carburator (sp?) and an oil pan for the Mustang he's rebuilding. Personally, I think I got the better deal this Christmas, but that's what he wanted! Go figure...I'll never understand men!

Jen got her 80 gig iPod, Chris the coat he wanted, Stephani got a Down Comforter and Microsuede Duvet, we got Mom a Sewing Table. That, along with all the other little "filler" gifts our family always goes overboard buying. We were 2 hours unwrapping it all!

Dinner was great, though the beef was a bit overcooked for my taste. We had a Salad of mixed greens, diced red and green apples, dried cranberries, slivered almonds and blue cheese with a Raspberry Vinaigrette before the Standing Rib Roast, with Horseradish Sauce, Buttery Mashed Potatoes and Chili Lime Corn. Yummy!

All in all, a very good Christmas day! Hope all of yours was as nice as ours!

December 19, 2006

Today is the last working day of the year for me. YEAH!!!! I cannot WAIT until 4:00! As you can probably tell by the fact that I'm blogging during business hours, I'm working TERRIBLY hard today. Not that anyone else is working any harder than I am..... Our Finance department Christmas party is this afternoon, so most people are goofing off.

I have most of my Christmas shopping completed, but nothing is wrapped. I'll finish up my search for clever and unique stocking stuffers tomorrow and my goal is to have everything finished and ready for C-Day no later than Friday evening. After which I am going to do absolutely NOTHING that I don't specifically want to do!
